Anger……Your Specialty?

image

Have you ever been so angry, that you just can’t think straight? You are boiling with rage, frustration, and you just can’t get a hold on your emotions.

Well, I have and I can tell you that anger is an emotion, we need to put in check constantly. I know that anger is a natural, often times unwanted or irrational, emotion that everybody experiences from time to time. Can we do without it?
Seriously, I would like to do away with this unwanted emotions”

Is anger just a state of mind then? Yes it is. The mind creates and manifest according to the images we habitually think about daily. Positive energy is created by positive thoughts. I have discovered that anger can trigger physical changes for instance, increased heart rate, blood pressure and levels of hormones such as adrenaline which sets us to either stay or run away’. These physical effects of long-term anger can be detrimental to our health and wellbeing.
We have the capability to become angry when we react to frustrations, criticisms, or a threat and this is not necessarily a bad thing or an inappropriate reaction.

We can also feel irritated by other people’s beliefs, opinions and actions and hence anger can affect our ability to communicate effectively – making us more likely to say or do unreasonable or irrational things. Each time we become unreasonable or irrational, others around us feel threatened, resentful or angry themselves and, again, these can all be barriers to effective communication.

Are we all slaves to our emotions? Yes. Positive emotions are healthy and can bring us happiness, this also extends to everyone around us. Negative energy on the other hand breaks us, leaves us unhappy and destroys every possibility of ever being happy and of course You can only give what you have. You can’t have a negative energy and expect to be positive.

Anger is the most destructive of all emotions. It can change a person completely, it also causes certain changes in the body.  The blood begins to circulate faster, the eyes become red and some people even tremble with fear most of the time. An angry man is often violent, aggressive and Unreasonable. He or she can not reason properly much less listen to reason.
Ecclesiastes 7:9* Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the Bossom of fools.

Have you ever seen a man angry? He speaks loudly, shouts at everything, behaves foolishly. Some begin to throw things within their reach. Some slam the door, others just keeps to themselves and burn silently.

It is important to try to understand why you ,or somebody else is feeling angry at any given time so that the root causes can be addressed and problems solved.
There are various factors that trigger anger, for example: Grief, sadness, loss of a family, tiredness, pain, sexual deprivations and frustration, financial problems, infidelity, injustice, hunger.

Often times venting out our anger worsens the situation than we expect. When we realise what anger can do, it would be foolish of us to entertain it.
We have to stay in control of our negative emotions. We must vent our angers the right way.
You can cry, punch a bag, write, exercise, talk to someone but please don’t suck it all in. It’s detrimental and unhealthy to our health and state of mind.

Everyone has been angry and knows what anger is. People get angry when their expectations are not met , whether those expectations are about the future, about themselves, or about others. The truth is, anger is a natural response to certain threats but we cannot get angry with everyone and everything we encounter. We must learn to express our anger appropriately.
We need to focus our negative vibes on something more constructive.

Everyone sees who we appear to be but only a few know the real us, people only see what we choose to show, there’s so much positive energy and strength behind every anger, we just don’t know

  1. I have been a couple of times, but I end up staring at this one spot and for a moment my imagination carries me away, and my clenched fist goes at ease, I forget I was angry in the first place…. it’s weird though.. 😂😂

Gentleness is a virtue that is not taught to us in our childhood. By the contrary, we are instructed to defend ourselves from violence with violence; Insult with insult. We are educated to become part of the problem instead of seeing that we can be part of the solution if we properly channel our energy.

  13. I get what you mean. It’s easy to get lost in the emotion and do or say things you’ll regret in future.
But the other party can help you overcome the anger.
Anger fuels anger. When I get angry and the person I’m supposed to be angry at is apologetic and showing love (even if they ARE right), i can’t stay angry for long.
But if they get angry, it fuels the emotion.

    Great read.

  14. You’re right. Expressing anger appropriately is so important. I find being creative with it helps. It is quite a force if channelled positively. The poem today on my poetry blog here on WordPress is about female anger in case you have time to look? Have a good day, Sam 🙂
