Self Esteem…..(#Part 2)

All over the world today, societies, nations, families, relationships, friendships are decaying and falling apart. I have come to understand that one of the main reasons for this is that people have stopped believing in themselves, stopped believing in their marriages, children, relationship, businesses, religious leaders and ect.

When you look around you, you’ll see evidence of widespread moral decline in rising crime statistics, people don’t care anymore what others think about them cos they’ve lost value in themselves.
Ever wondered why what you say to some people don’t seem to matter to them? I do.
We see and hear shocking information about sexual behaviour in teenagers, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, marital rape, rape, sexual abuse, robbery, insurgencies ect.

These problems are psychologically related.

Imagine speaking to a child constantly that he or she is of no good. They can’t amount to anything no matter how much they try. Imagine growing up reprimanded daily for a mistake you did. Constantly been told to shut up when you try to speak out. Being rejected and sidelined. That child grows up broken, shattered, with low self esteem, left out and ridiculed.
We all have blind spots, both children and adults, negative habits and personal emergencies that limits our potential. But when we have a high self esteem, we’re less likely to get shot down.

The greatest factor limiting our potentials is having a low self esteem and fear of being rejected. We have to raise the standards we set for ourselves.
Having a low self esteem is not what God wants for us.

We have to learn to love ourselves….

Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
It is God’s desire that we come before his presence boldly. He also expects you to stay bold and remain bold at all times. If we want to enjoy the blessings he has for us, we need to make Lifestyle choices that align with his word and are consistent with the values of his word, not choices reflecting our weaknesses and eroding values of the world.

1 Samuel 16:7 “ But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
We need to stop looking down on ourselves and others. Stop judging and start accepting people for who they are and not what they are. Isaiah 43:4 says ”
Because you are precious in my eyes, and honoured, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. We are all precious in the sight of God regardless of skin colour, height, weight, hurts, pasts, mistakes, identity.

No matter the cause of your low self esteem, remember that God does not produce junks rather he turns trash into treasures. (Building your self esteem is a key to  a being successful). He places great value on you. He sent His Son to die for your sins( mine inclusive) because of His desire to know you (and me) and make you part of His family forever.

Be yourself… Forgive yourself….Love yourself”
