Storms Of Life…..

Hang on brother or brace yourself! God’s got your back.

Have you ever found yourself in that place? Stuck in one of life’s storms, and no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, it seems you cannot make any headway? Well, we all have times like that! I do. Sometimes you feel like the storm will never end and that there is no possible good that can come from what you are facing.

Storms of life are never pleasant. Life is never a bed of roses. But then whenever we are determined to pursue our God given dreams, we are bound to encounter various storms of life. Some leaves us with painful memories others leaves us eternal loss. What we do in the midst of storms is very crucial to our recovery. This life is full of troubles and trials and if we say we will never encounter any then we are not being sincere to ourselves and to those around us.
1 Cor 6:4 makes it clear: “In everything we do we try to show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.” Trouble seems to be part of life but not God’s desire for us.

Oftentimes, when am faced with so much challenges, i ask myself why am i going through this? Why is this happening to me? Why is God silent? Is he speaking in the silence? Would i get through this? If i do, what are the lessons God wants me to learn from it all? Is this intentional? Are they working for my good? The answers to this questions helps me face life storms patiently and courageously. I must say it’s never easy. Standing tall when everything seems to be falling apart is one of the most difficult things to do, believe me and that’s why reflecting on his divine purpose in the midst of storms is very important. But then, as believers we are expected to be examples to the world. Be a light ” Mathew 5:14(You are the light of the world–like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden)  even when everything seems dark and gloomy.

“We have to find peace even in the midst of the storms… Jesus is the peace!.

Personally, am sure we all detest failure and giving up. Some of us create our own storms and get angry when it starts to rain but that notwithstanding, when faced with storms of life, the enemy makes us believe we are failures and that God has long given up on us. This is not true. God never gives up on his children. Be it Marital storms, educational storms, relationship storms, Family crisis, just know that you are not alone.
Oftentimes, all God needs to calm the storms in our lives is for us to surrender to him.

 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 shows Paul’s burden and how he learned to trust in God. Three times Paul asked the Lord to remove his heavy burden. The Lord’s answer was no to Paul for He said, “my grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” God allows us to go through the storms of life so we can learn to live on his strength and not rely on our own strength.

The Lord is with us through times of trial… or when the storms of life get to be too much to handle. Whether He calms the storm as he did for the disciples, or asks us to let him walk through the storm with us. Even in our unfaithfulness, God is still faithful and will always be. “1 Corinthians 1:19”
