Worth Fighting For?….

I have seen couples give up on one another after so many years of being together. When I ask them the response I often get is “She’s not worth fighting for”, “He’s not worth it and neither is he worth fighting for”. I have also seen siblings give up on each other, bosses give up on their staffs, pastorsโ€‹ and priest give up on their congregations. Parents giving up on their children. Nations going to war with other nations simply because they have a pride to protect, even at the expense of the life of their soldiers. Today i heard someone say to another, “you are just not worth fighting for”. I was shocked and saddened, i could not help but ask myself, “At what point do we stop fighting for what we love? Those we love and what we want?
I know many will say, come on Whitney, do you know what i have been through? Do you what she has done to me? Do you know what he has done to me? Some will say, Whitney, some people are just not worth fighting for and even when you try they make it difficult for you to even love them, so how can you fight for something you don’t love?etc.

Am not disputing the fact that some people just make it difficult for any one to love them much less fight for them but what I want to know is at what point do we decide and say “He or she is just not worth fighting for?” Or “A thing is not worth fighting for?”

We are all humans aren’t we? So, that means we are all the same, entangled and related. If we have this knowledge then we should know that everyone of us that is good is worth fighting for. The truth is none of us is easy to date, deal with or please all the time. We have our ways, attitudes, habits and ways of doing things that makes us different and who we are. No matter how hard you try, you can not like everything about anyone. Oftentimes, you like what they want you to like, you only see what they want you to see. That’s life and there is little or nothing we can do about it.

But guess what? Regardless of our differences, values, beliefs, hatred, uncertainties, distrust, injustice to one another, God still thinks you and i are worth fighting for. He met us when we were deep in despair, he didn’t just leave us there, he claimed us, called us “His own” and said “We are worth fighting for”. He went ahead to demonstrate this act by taking the long walk to Golgotha to be nailed on the cross just so you and i will forever be saved.
He’s constantly letting go of my pasts and opening new doors of opportunity to me irrespective of my mistakes. He sees the best in me when everyone around can only see the worst in me, that’sโ€‹ how i know am worth fighting for. Do you think you are worth fighting for? Do you think he or she is worth fighting for too?

  1. https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.jsYes. Always but what if the other does not want to fight for you or anything. We are humans, and we all make mistakes. Some pretty bruising, after years of relentless tries, what if they are the one that says goodbye. They don’t desire the life they have lived anymore. You fight for it all, and they still say this not worth it anymore. I want to live how I want to live. So you let go, and still 4 years later are in shock your life was so rocked. They don’t see the need for God to restore.

    1. Relationships arenโ€™t always going to completely work out in one personโ€™s liking and you canโ€™t always get what you want. But, when you fight for someone make sure the person can fight for you too. You are worth fighting for and the other party must be able to see that. If they don’t want you to fight anymore for them, then let it go. It’s their call not yours. Thank you very much for sharing with us. I learnt a lot from it.

      1. God told me to let go, and continue in prayer for this perosn has been part of my life since the 4th grade. Married for 18 years. Only one writ for ending marriage as far as biblically. I held on as long as I could. Even forgiveness with the one out. Yet still it was that lifestyle he wanted. It is living in the world, he became part of it. Which God calls his to live in it but not be of it. So I pray daily this person is broken to God’s healing on his life. Thank you for responding back. God is bigger than all of this!! โ˜๐Ÿ™โค

    1. I totally agree with you that everyone is worth fighting for but then we must know when to let go especially when the person we are fighting for doesn’t need us fighting for them and neither are they willing to fight for us too.
Thank you dear for this kind response. I appreciate it and glad you dropped by.

  2. Beautiful. Every relationship whether it is a friendship or a boyfriend/ girlfriend relationship, or if you are married. They are all worth fighting for. If you’ve done everything you can and at the end of the day if you know you’ve done everything you could and the other person has to and it best to just walk away with no regrets because you will not hurt the other person because you both know you’ve done everything you’ve could. Especially if you were both honest and open with each other about what was going on and what the issues were. So yeah I would say every relationship is worth fighting for.

    1. Yes dear that’s very true. Every good relationship is worth fighting for but there is a limit to what we all can take and fight for even when it comes to relationships.
Thank you dear for your kind response. You are worth fighting for my dearest.

      1. Yep. I agree. I think that as long as you’ve done everything you could and if you need to walk away then that’s what you should do. So yeah I agree completely. There is a limit to what we all can take and fight for. I feel that way about my relationship with my mom. You’re welcome. Aww thank you Whitney. You are so sweet.
