Agree With God..#Be Doubtless!

I am grieved when I hear people devalue themselves with comments such as “I am so stupid”, “I hate the way I look”, “I never do anything right”. When i ask them why they are so fast to condemn themselves their responses are always “My mama said I would never be anything”, “my step father says i’m a failure”, “my friends says i’m a failure”, “my boss doesn’t see anything good in me”. These remarks and many others are so sad and deriogatry, they represent an unbiblical way people think about themselves and i have come to understand how dangerous that kind of speaking and thinking is. It does not reflect the truth of God’s word, align with the way He thinks about us. It leaves us trapped and continually live in fear, be less fruitful and less powerful than He desires us to be.

We can never rise above the thoughts and beliefs we have towards ourselves, so we must make sure we believe what God says about us. We must stop merely agreeing with other people and their negative pronouncements, our circumstances, our flesh and the devil. We must begin to agree with God. He says we find our true worth and value in the fact that He loves us and sent His son to die for us. We have been purchased for God by the blood of Jesus. When God looks at us, He is not looking to see what we do, where we live, who we know, how we dress, or how many educational degrees we hold. He is looking at our hearts, saying, “That man is worth so much that I sent my son to die for him”. “That woman is so valuable because she belongs to me and I love her”.

Let me be personal for a moment. I have come to the point in my life where i know and believe my value as a person is not in the fact that i own Whitneyibeblog or i’m a Motivational Speaker. It is my calling and my duty to inspire and motivate people to be better to the Glory of God. I do it for God and yes it has its own challenges but it’s exciting and I am blessed in doing it. But if I didn’t do it, would I be less valuable or worthless? No way! My worth and value in God’s eyes would not change one bit.

The same is true for you. God does not measure your worth by what you do. Now, the enemy will try to make you believe you would be worth less if you stop doing the things you do or if you don’t measure up to the standards set by man, friends, family ect. But this is not true, so do not allow yourself to become entrapped in that lie. You don’t need to listen to him. The truth is that God loves you; He cares for you; He wanted a relationship with you so much that He sent His son to suffer and die just so you could draw near to Him. You have incredible worth and value to Him. You have to choose to believe that, because the enemy and the world will work hard to convince you otherwise.

Obviously, God has something for each of us to do and we should be busy doing it and bearing good fruit. The point I want to make is that what we do should not be compelled to what someone else does, nor should we seek or derive our worth and value from what we do but rather on what God says about us. One person may be a singer while another is a great bricklayer, but both are equally valuable to God.

You may be asking, ” if I am so valuable to God, why do I feel so bad about myself?” You see, your worth and identity are established in God’s heart and recorded in his word. Your position of value is legal, spiritually speaking, because Jesus has given it to you. However, you may not feel it experimentally because there is a process involved in understanding and receiving what he has done. When you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, He made you righteous in the eyes of God ( 2 Corinthians 5:21).
Well, this does not mean you do everything right, but it does mean you can press toward better behaviour everyday of your life and meanwhile God still sees you as righteous because of your faith in him. When you also received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you were made a new creature and right with God. Everything about your old self passed away from God’s perspective. You received a new heart, a new future, the fruit of the holy spirit, you were filled with new possibilities and so much more.

You have a legal right to feel good about yourself. It’s simply not biblical to walk around feeling rotten about yourself all the time. You do sin and make mistakes; you still need mercy everyday, but you have a new identity in Jesus Christ. You are a blood bought child of God with more worth and value than you could ever imagine. God has done an work inside you, if only I can make you see that.

Your job today my dear, is to cooperate with Him by yielding to his guidance in your life and by believing what God says about you in His word. God bless you….Shallom!

  1. I struggle with this a lot, but I’m glad that I don’t have to struggle alone. So many people need to see this and hear this. Our world would be a different place. So beautifully written. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece with us. Love you!! Hugs!!

      1. Smiling at the thought that if more people realized this what a different place our world would be. There would be less hate and more love. There would be more peace and a lot less fights. There would be united instead of division. What a wonderful thought that is.

    1. You are beautiful my dear in every way. Sometimes I try to imagine the smiles on His face when he created every one of us and wonder how the world would look like if we all knew this. There would be less hate, injustice to ourselves and to our fellow man, anger, irreconcilable differences ect. I’m glad you enjoyed reading the post. Have a great day.
