Your Joy…#Your Strength!

I have met with some people who said to me “Whitney i’m sorry but i can’t laugh nor enjoy my life. My problems are consuming me.” Even when I try to tickle them. They focus intensely on finding a solution and they won’t relax or enjoy life until the problems are solved. I often wonder; if the problem takes four years to get solved, does it mean they will wait for four years before they get to laugh or enjoy life? And if the problem doesn’t get solved in their life time, it automatically means they will never know laughter or enjoy their life through out their life time right?.

I know there are times we need to address urgent matters and there are times we need to apply spiritual disciplines in our lives, but we don’t have to live under constant pressure or rigid demands. It’s very unhealthy. Choosing to laugh, be joyful and take a light hearted approach to many things in life will do more than make you a pleasant person. Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)  Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Let’s think about this for a little while; How strong or confident are we when we are discouraged, depressed, or even down in the dumps? Not so strong right? What if I told you that you can be strong, you can find joy in the midst of all trouble and obstacles? Yes, all you have to do is allow God fill you with joy and you will begin to feel as though nothing wrong happened and you can do just about anything.

Many times, when Satan comes against us, he is simply trying to steal our joy. He wants us to fear, despair or have a negative outlook on life because he knows if he can dampen our joy, he can steal our strength. In order to stay strong, we must stay joyful. sometimes good things end in tears , so that you can have new ones with the smiles.

Start by smiling a lot, rejoice in the Lord always, find every obstacles as stepping stone to greater heights. “Philippians 4:4.”.  Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears and always remember you find strength for anything when you have joy in you.

  1. Count your age by friends, not years. Thats very interesting. I truly truly love this!!! My understanding finds me on the conclusion that what we believe is who we believe. And we should build ourself around that cause what you water is what you grow.

    1. Yes it is. That’s all he does: steal, kill and destroys. So we will always be his slave. It’s time for us to stand up against him and resist all his schemes, lies, deceits ect. We can only do that if we know who we are in Christ Jesus and the source of our joy. Thank you very much for your comments. It’s very thoughtful of you to respond.
