Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. It will not only improve your life, it will improve the lives of all those around you. – Robin S. Sharma
Broadly speaking, investing in yourself is the best thing you could ever possibly do for yourself. You could loose everything outside but it’s very difficult to loose something that’s within. Every investment you make on yourself, develops you from within before it spreads out for others to see. It’s just like investing so much money in your wardrobe to the latest trend only to step out and be told you have a foul body odor. Ironic isn’t it? Success reflects on the outside when a lot of work has been done from the inside. “The best investment you can make is in yourself – Warren Buffett”
Most of the greatest and successful men of our time didn’t just get to where they are by merely wishing for it. “You get what you work for and not what you wished for”. They invested in their strengths and abilities, they devoted their time in harnessing their potentials. They didn’t hide away nor shy away from setbacks, obstacles critics and failures. They believed that they could achieve anything especially what they’ve set out to do and invested heavily on it.
You don’t get nothing by wishful thinking. You get it by stepping out of your comfort zone, developing in your strengths no matter how frail they are and investing a great deal in your potentials and abilities. Avoid pussyfooting lifestyle. Change rarely comes to those who are secured and comfortable with what they’ve seen, it comes to those who are unsettled by what they have seen.
Let’s examine the three servants in Mathew 25:25, that their master invested in. Jesus highlights the story of three servants who were given talents to invest on behalf of their master. The first two invested well and were rewarded, while the third one buried his talent and was judged accordingly. The first two considered their options, crunched the numbers, took the plunge, and were willing to risk failure. As a result their boss said, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant’ (Matthew 25:21 NKJV).
The third servant, however, said, ‘I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground’ (Matthew 25:25 NKJV). He made the most common and tragic mistake when it comes to giftedness: he failed to benefit his Master with his talent. Some invest their talents and give God credit, while others misuse theirs and give him grief. Some honour him with ‘fruit’, while others insult him with excuses. And how does God feel about the latter? ‘Take the money away from him and give it to the one who [invested]’ (Matthew 25:29 GNT). Fear is the opposite of faith, and ‘without faith it is impossible to please [God]’ (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).
This year invest in what God has given you. It may not be much but be rest assured that if you are faithful in the little he has given you, much will be added you. All you need to excel is within your reach, stop looking outside and beyond. Look within!
So this year step out in faith; God won’t let you down. Take a risk; he won’t fail you. Even if you stumble on your way to success, he encourages you to envision the day when you’ll feel his hand on your shoulder and hear the words: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’

I’m up for personal development anytime anyday. Because in the end we are all we’ve got when everything else comes crashing down.
And God expects us to nurture and develop what He has given us So we can profit in it.
Very sound lessons here Whitney.
Thank you for the beautiful reminder.
Have a great year.
(I’m still expecting to hear from you.)

Yes Gracie we are all we’ve got. We owe our future self and God an apology if we fail to use the abilities and potentials deposited in us for our good and greater good of our world.
I sent you a mail Gracie and I haven’t heard from you yet.

Oh Whitney. God knew I needed this. He must have. I was just talking with my mom last night about finding another job. Job searching is always a scary thing, but I know God will provide and everything will be fine. I have been blessed lately far beyond what I deserve. God has been good to my mom and I. This is just what I needed to encourage me. I’ve come to the realization that for too many years that I’ve let others steal my joy and I’m not going to do it anymore. There are a lot of jobs in my field and I can easily find another one I really can. Thanks again and have a great day!! Be blessed!!
