Then begin with God. Don’t make it about you!
Crazy right? I understand. We need to understand that we were made by God and for God and until we understand that, our lives will never make sense. Focusing on ourselves will never reveal our life’s purpose. The purpose of life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness.
It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and imaginations, even your ambitions. If you truly want to know why you were placed here on earth or born into the family you were born into, then you must begin with God. Many may not agree to this but the truth is you were born by his purpose and for his purpose.
What do I want to do with my life? Why am I even here? What do I want to be? What are short term goals, long term goals, my dreams, my future? The search for purpose of life has left many puzzled for years and that’s because we begin at the wrong starting point “Ourselves”.
I made this same mistake and I can categorically say I started off at the wrong point. Experience they say is the best teacher and through experience I have learned a lot. Scripture teaches that it is God who directs the lives of his creatures; everyone’s life is in his power. Contrary to what many must have told you, you won’t discover your life’s meaning by looking within yourself alone, it’s a good shot but it’s not enough. I discovered, we didn’t create ourselves, so there’s practically no way we can tell ourselves what we were created for.
