Make A Habit Of Being Generous…

The world is full of selfish, stingy, greedy people constantly watching out for themselves alone. God wants us to be generous. As a matter of fact, 2 Corinthians 9:7 tells us “God loves a cheerful giver”.

John D. Rockefeller was one of the wealthiest men of his day, but he understood the importance of generosity, and urged others, “Think of giving not as a duty, but as a privilege”. I totally agree with him and I see it as a good advice

Recently I have found out that there are few things in life that are more rewarding and they are giving to others. When you give with your whole heart, you find peace and fulfillment, the joy that sweeps your heart is immeasurable. But when you give sparingly or grudgingly you loose sight of so many good things you are supposed to see or feel.

Today, I’m encouraging you to become a cheerful giver. It’s never easy but it’s not impossible. Develop the habit of giving in every way you can think of. Give help, encouragement, compliments, money, gifts, yourself, time, talents and abilities. Above all these, give forgiveness.

People who are self centered, stringy and greedy are some of the most miserable, unproductive people on earth. Selfish Christians are often useless and unfruitful in God’s kingdom but those who gibe cheerfully and generously are usually happy, fulfilled and highly effective and efficient.

      1. I really enjoy reading your blog; I am so new at this/ most of my life I was told I had the writting ability; I never took them serious; all I knew I just loved to type out my thoughts and more. Your blog spoke the truth about so many of us in this world. Many I fould that didn;t want to give was because of fear, selfishness and Pride. Never took God’s word as the truth but some whould say it was man made. But what you said here will reach many and I know is pleased with your being about the kingdome business. Stay bless…

        1. Thank you very much for your kind words. We all have a role to play in our father’s business (Managing the kingdom of God). His grace is ever sufficient the day we decide to trust him and take up our parts.
Stay safe and remain blessed. 💞

  1. Hi Whitney,

    wonderful post.
Yes it is hard, in this world to be kind, when people around you are unkind. To be generous when everyone around you are not. But this is one great habit. Small things like smile, like generosity, like support, could change our life, could change energy around us.That is our little contribution for better world!

“Generosity is not giving me that which I need more than you do, but it is giving me that which you need more than I do.” Khalil Gibran

    1. Hi Ben.
I love the quote from Khalil Gibran, thank you for sharing. Giving no matter how little it is, is our own little contribution for a better world indeed.
Let’s keep giving despite how hard it is. We never know the one that will yield the best results.
Thank you Ben for sharing with us.

      1. Sorry, Whitney, don’t know if you noticed the stupid monkey on my home page. I don’t participate in the giving or receiving of awards. Now, after my multiple eye surgeries it has been difficult to keep up with the reading of blogs, answering comments, and still having time for family and work.

        I hope you understand.

Thank you for the kind gesture, I appreciate it. Have a wonderful week
