There are people in this world who no matter what happens have zero their mind never to laugh or smile no matter what as long as their problems are still visible. Well, I understand that there are some situations you find yourself and laughing won’t sit in at the moment but then carrying a frowny face every day isn’t a better option either. I recently attended a comedy show over the weekend and realized that laughter is the best medicine. Although that can’t be said to be the same of the man who sat close to me.
As the comedian cracked jokes and others kept laughing, the man next to me didn’t bulge. I felt weird laughing while the man beside me wouldn’t just laugh. It was obvious that he had a lot on his mind. I mean, just as our faces differ so also our problems and need but I have learned that the best revenge to any sad situation is happiness, because nothing drives people more crazy then seeing someone actually having a good life and guess what? Your problems understands this as well!
Many of us are like the man I spotted at the show. When we discover we’ve got a problem, we focus intensely and solely on finding a solution, and find it difficult to relax or enjoy life until the problem gets solved. The bitter question we need to ask ourselves is “If no solution comes for the next six month, would we remain uptight, sad and gloomy for six month? Hell no! Wrinkles, high blood pressure, anxiety, fast aging will definitely be our companion and I don’t any one of us would want that.
Of course, there are times we need to address urgent matters, and there are times we need to apply spiritual disciplines in our lives, but we do not need to live under constant pressure or rigid demands. We can rejoice in spite of and the midst of our problems.
Start by smiling a lot; “a smile is a way to prime the pump of joy, an effective weapon against all problems – Joyce Meyers”. Most of the time, If we simply begin to find the joy, we will overcome the obstacles against us and be better able to handle the problems we have. Most times the mountains we think we are climbing is nothing but sand. It’s all about changing our mindset and ideologies.
John 10:10 – “The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life—life in all its fullness.(GNT)”. What a scripture! Jesus wants his joy to be full and complete in us. He wants us to experience delight and peace every day. That’s what I’m praying for you reading this-That the joy of the Lord will fill your heart and keep you through any storms of life.
Don’t allow situations or circumstances steal your joy. Be determined to be happy by all means and stay happy. Be lighthearted, hum a tune sing and by all means Smile!
