Trust God!

Hello everyone and how’s your day going? Very often in my write-ups I always encourage you to believe in yourself and wear self confidence like a cherished garment but today, I will be talking about trusting God. Now, I know our world and humans have made sure that’s a scarce commodity and even when you do find it, it genuinely gets questioned. When you trust God, you can be reassured that he’s going to come through for you. It’s that simple!

A certain man planted a tree and asked God for the rain to help it grow. God sent rain. Next, he prayed for sunshine to help it bloom. And God sent sunshine. Finally, he prayed for frost to strengthen its branches. And God sent that too. But the tree died! Greatly upset, the man decided to consult a master-gardener. “I ordered all the right things to make it grow. What went wrong?” he asked. The gardener took him aside and showed him his own plants and trees. “When I plant a garden”, he said, I ask God to send whatever he feels it needs; I figure he knows best!”

Are you trying to control what’s not yours to control? Are you fretting over circumstances you can’t change and even if you could, you’d probably mess them up? Today God is saying to you, “Be still and know that I am God”. The reason he says this to us is because our activity when born out of carnal mind actually prevents him from showings himself strong on our behalf. It’s difficult for positive inspiration to breath and survives in a complicated mind.

Now, that doesn’t mean we are to be passive and lazy. It just means we are to do whatever he leads us to do, without running ahead of him in the energy of the flesh! It also means that we are to submit everything to him first, then slow down and wait. In other words, make sure you have a sense of peace to go along with the plans and ideas you believe he’s given you.

Ask him to reveal to you his will in the matter, then ” be still” and acknowledge that he’s God, he’s in charge, and he knows what he’s doing! Learn to trust him without always demanding to know what he’s going to do when he’s going to do it, and how he’s going to carry it out. Jesus said, ” I am the vine, ye are the branches, John 15:5″. Until you really understand those words, you’ll keep trying to do things that only he can do. Things like blessing yourself, promoting your own ministry, solving your own problems, and answering your own prayers.

Or worse, you try to cover up for him because you think he’s not doing it fast enough, and so you stand there like a substitute teacher, trying to make him look good through human efforts. Give it up; it can’t be done! Jesus said, ” I am the vine, ye are the branches…All you have to do is stay connected!

When was the last time you prayed, “Lord, make me better?” Most of the time we pray, ” Lord, make me bigger.” Listen, if you abide, you’ll automatically abound! You’ve got to know where your help comes from, otherwise, you’ll waste your time chasing people who have no more power than you do. Your success is in the vine! Your business is in the vine! Your future is in the vine! Your future is in the vine! All you have to do is stay connected!

God involves us in one thing to teach us another. He uses the familiar to do the incredible. He moves us from the security of the shore to the risks of the deep. Why you ask? Because you’ve got to experience the great storms in order to enjoy the great catches. No risks, no rewards! When we obey and trust God, nets break, needs are met, minds are blown, and he is glorified. Remember, the miracle can’t begin until you say, ….”nevertheless at thy word I will”.
