Be Determined To Be Happy!

Hello everyone! Happiness is a choice and it’s possible! Let me encourage you to be determined to be happy and enjoy every day of your life. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you can be happy. Keep a positive attitude, use your mind to think positive thoughts and your mouth to speak positive words.

You will have to be diligent to stay positive, but you can do it. You’ll never understand the pain you went through until you discover the resilience, strength and willpower it brought you.

Just because something is over doesn’t mean your life is over. The moment you feel yourself becoming negative, stop and make an attitude adjustment. The best way to do this is to spend time with God.

Even if you need to lock yourself in the bathroom to get a moment’s peace and quiet in your busy schedule or sit in your car during your lunch break at work, take time to get with God and say, “Okay, God I’m starting to think negative thoughts. I’m starting to feel discouraged. I losing my happiness. I am tempted to give up. Show me what the problem is. Strengthen me right now, Lord. If there is something I need to see, let me see it. If there’s a change I need to make, help me make it. Otherwise, give me your strength a and your grace to have a positive attitude and do whatever I need to do and do it with joy. I wait on you, God because I know you’re the source of every good gift and I believe you’re working all things together for good in my life.” Amen.

Don’t merely try to have a better attitude, pray about it!

As you begin to spend time with God, he will reveal to you why you have stopped being happy at that moment or why you became negative. For example, He could show you the reason you have lost your positive attitude is that a colleague at work received a promotion you wanted.

Maybe you became jealous or bitter and developed a bad attitude because you wanted to move up but now you have to remain in your old position. When God shows you something like that, you can say, “You’re right, God. I’m sorry. I’m not going to be jealous. Bless that person, Lord. Give them wisdom and grace to do the new job well. I know you have plans for my life, and I know nothing can keep me from the good things you have purposed for me. I choose to believe this will work out for my good. Since I did not get the promotion I wanted, you must have something better in store for me. I am going to wait in that with a positive attitude”.

Things hidden in the dark have power over us, so don’t be afraid to ask God to show you what is wrong and to walk in the light of what he reveals”.

A person who has a positive attitude cannot be defeated. He or she will enjoy life, no matter what. I encourage you to decide to eliminate negative thinking and negative speaking from your life right now. As soon as you do, you’ll find yourself enjoying today and looking forward to tomorrow in brand new ways.

The amount of happiness that you have depends on the amount of freedom you have in your heart”.

Whatever happens, make a decision to be happy every step of the way.

Blessings and Love

  1. We’re not guaranteed to be happy all the time. Happiness is an emotion that comes and goes with circumstances outside our control. But joy is a virtue that the Holy Spirit can bear in us as His fruit in our lives, even in the midst of difficult circumstances…

    1. Very insightful Robert. Yes, situations and circumstances can make us believe that we are not guaranteed to be happy but we can choose to be happy no matter what. There is always a choice. Happiness isn’t something we find, its something we create.

Experience has taught me that there is a time in everybody’s life when you have to stop being scared and say what you want & need cause holding back only leaves you with regret & unhappiness!

Yes, joy is a virtue that the Holy Spirit bears in us 😊. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.

      1. For example, if someone close to you dies, you won’t be happy, but you can be joyful in the midst of the sorrow and the grief…

        1. Where do we draw the line and differentiate between joy and happiness? I have been asked that question over and over again! If I can get that answer, then maybe I would be able to understand how one can not be happy but be joyful at the same time regardless of the sad situation.

I’m going to pray more about this and read more about this. Lovely Robert.

          1. I think happiness is when circumstances are so good you could laugh. Joy can be when despite circumstances that make you feel like crying, you rejoice that in Christ, everything will ultimately be okay.
