Memoirs Of A Traveller!

I said to myself,” I will watch what I do, what I say, where I go”

I said I won’t sin in what I say.

I will hold my tongue

When life mistakes and challenges overwhelm me,

When ungodly men are around me.

But as I stood there in silence

I couldn’t speak of any good thing

The turmoil within me grew worse.

Why is life so irregular?

The more I thought about it, the hotter I got.

Igniting a fire of words:

“I need a reminder Lord, of how brief my time on earth will be.

Remind me that my days are numbered

Remind me how fleeting my life is.

You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.

My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath”

We are merely moving shadows,

And all our busy rushing ends in nothing.

We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it.

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope?

My only hope is in you.

Rescue me from my rebellion.

Do not let fools mock me.

I am ever silent before you; I promise I won’t say a word,

But please stop striking me!

I am exhausted by the blows from your hand.

When you discipline me for my sins,

You consume like a moth what is most precious to me.

Each of us is but a breath.

Don’t ignore my tears.

Please listen to my cries for help!

For I am your guest, a traveller passing through,

As my ancestors were before me.

I don’t want to live with regrets.

So I am writing this with my heart in my hand.

I am going to let go of my fears.

Please let me smile again

Before I am gone and exist no more.

I choose to hear nothing but your voice,

As I continue my journey.

Blessings and Love
